The British version of the Grammys, the aptly named Brit Awards, took place on Feb. 22. The show took place at the O2 Arena in London and was hosted by Dermot O’Leary and Emma Willis. The original emcee was to be Michael Buble but he dropped out when his young son took ill.
While the kudocast aired live on the commercial broadcaster ITV in Blighty, it is on tape delay on BBC America. Little Mix opened the show with a boffo performance and later won British Single of the Year. Among the others that appeared were the winning British acts Emeli Sandé and The 1975 as well as the nominated Skepta and international artist contender Bruno Mars. Also adding star wattage to the roster were American Katy Perry and homegrown talent Ed Sheeran. In addition, Brit Icon winner Robbie Williams performed.
