“Obviously I’ve had some time now to get over it and reliving it sucked, but it is very hard,” says “Survivor: Game Changers” castoff Ciera Eastin to Gold Derby after being the first person eliminated in the season premiere. Ciera previously finished in fifth place on “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” (Season 27) thanks in part to voting out her mom Laura Morett, and then she came in 10th place when America voted her into the all-stars version “Survivor: Second Chance” (Season 31).
Listen to our full exit interview above and then make your “Survivor 34” predictions for a chance to top our famous leaderboards. It’s fun and easy, so start now by predicting who will be voted out next.
Ciera was voted out thanks in part to Malcolm Freberg‘s claims that she was throwing too many names out there, but isn’t that how “Game Changers” is supposed to be played? “Totally!” she agrees. “And on top of that, that was not my perspective at all. I had so many people telling me Tony [should go home] — they all were. And actually the conversation you saw when I walked up to the well, they had already been sitting around talking about Tony, so I just pretty much joined their conversation.”
“If I’m being honest, I think it was a very, very smart move of Malcolm to kind to initiate, well, Ciera is throwing everyone’s name out. So I think it was brilliant on his part to kind of use that to get rid of me,” Ciera continues. “I wish I would have dedicated more time to Malcolm so he could feel secure with me. He definitely went in wanting me gone and he had an army of people to do it.”
Also in our “Survivor” podcast, Ciera chats about how Sandra Diaz-Twine could still win despite having a huge target on her back, whether it was fair of Jeff Varner to want to eliminate her because she voted out her mom in “Blood vs. Water,” what she remembers most fondly about the islands of Fiji, and if she would ever come back for a fourth try.
