On Monday night, “Dancing with the Stars” held part one of its two-night finale which featured performances by celebrity finalists Jordan Fisher, Frankie Muniz, Drew Scott, and Lindsey Stirling. But that wasn’t all. The show also featured a special musical performance by Pitbull and Fifth Harmony of their new collaboration single “Por Favor.” Watch it above.
The performance was extra special because of Fifth Harmony’s unique connection to the dance competition series. One of the girl group’s members, Normani Kordei, actually competed on the show this past spring in season 24. She was the highest scoring contestant of the season and she advanced all the way to the finals, though her impressive scores throughout the competition couldn’t get her all the way to the Mirror Ball Trophy. The season ended in an upset with football player Rashad Jennings taking the title and baseball champion David Ross claiming second place.
The performance of “Por Favor” was accompanied by “DWTS” troupe dancers and pros including Sharna Burgess, Cheryl Burke, and Peta Murgatroyd. And this wasn’t Pitbull’s first time in the ballroom for the show. He has made multiple guest appearances as a musical guest and even sat in as a guest judge twice, in season 19 for “Pitbull Night” and season 23 for “Latin Night.” But Pitbull has never actually entered the competition himself as a celebrity contestant. Given his strong fan base and inherent musicality, he could potentially even appear at the next “DWTS” finals as one of the stars in contention. Vote in our poll below to let us know if you think Pitbull should finally join the show as a competitor.
