The two-night “Dancing with the Stars” finale was a bittersweet affair for violinist Lindsey Stirling. She had her best week of the entire competition, receiving perfect scores for all four of her dances — redemption and freestyle dances on Monday night, encore and fusion dances on Tuesday night. But she fell just short of winning the Mirror Ball Trophy, finishing second to Broadway actor Jordan Fisher. But it wasn’t all bad news for Stirling, who got to perform a new song “Christmas C’Mon” featuring Becky G, from her new holiday album “Warmer in the Winter.” Watch their performance above.
Stirling’s unique blend of classical violin and modern dance and dub-step earned her a spot on “America’s Got Talent” in 2010, where she reached the quarterfinals but faced some difficult criticism from the judges. She nevertheless carved out a niche online, becoming a star with viral videos on YouTube. She ended up winning two Billboard Music Awards for Top Dance/Electronic Album (“Shatter Me” in 2015 and “Brave Enough” in 2017) before teaming up with pro dancer Mark Ballas on “DWTS.”
Stirling received a total of five perfect scores from the judges, performing a number of quirky and unique routines that showcased her personality. She even fought her way through the pain after a rib injury threatened to take her out of the competition entirely; she performed a mightily difficult paso doble with the injury that week and still managed to score 9s from the judges. But all of that wasn’t quite enough to overtake Fisher in the end. Did you agree with that result? Vote in our poll below to let us know.
