‘Dancing with the Stars’: Nick Viall stripped down for his ‘Bachelor’ inspired rumba [WATCH]

Nick Viall lost his shirt on Monday night’s “Dancing with the Stars” — literally. Or rather, it was gradually removed from him by female troupe members and pro partner Peta Murgatroyd during his “Most Memorable Year” dance. He performed a rumba inspired by the year 2016 when he finally found love on “The Bachelor.” After two unsuccessful and controversial stints on “The Bachelorette” — which earned him the derision of at least one Starfleet captain — he finally met and proposed to his fiancee, Vanessa Grimaldi, with whom he embraced at the very end of his routine. “You looked very comfortable with a lot of women,” judge Julianne Hough teased. She also thanked Murgatroyd for choreographing Viall’s disrobing before adding, “I have to tell you this was your best dance.” Bruno Tonioli added, “I felt something new stirring inside you tonight … Much, much better.” Carrie Ann Inaba “thought the beginning was a bit rough [with the multiple female troupe members] … but once you became a two-person couple the dance became magical.” And Len Goodman joked, “Now that I’ve seen you with your shirt off, we’ve got so much in common,” but then he explained that it was Viall’s “best dance so far.”

The judges’ scores were divided by gender: Viall scored 7s from Goodman and Tonioli and 8s from Inaba and Hough for a total of 30 out of 40. That was Viall’s best score of the season so far, but as the level of competition intensifies, that won’t be good enough for long. After Mr. T‘s elimination at the end of the night, Viall was left at the bottom of the leaderboard tied with another reality star, Erika Jayne from “Real Housewives.”
