“Dancing with the Stars” just held one of its most popular theme nights this past Monday, “Most Memorable Year,” in which the celebs perform routines inspired by a special time in their lives. Now we’re about to get another popular favorite, “Disney Night,” which will feature dances in honor of popular Disney projects. Disney, of course, is the parent company of the ABC network, so it could as easily be called “Synergy Night.”
Where “Most Memorable Year” was focused on depths of emotion, “Disney Night” is usually more of an opportunity for pure fun, but there will still be pressure to deliver as some of the celebs will be performing routines based on films we’ve already seen memorable dances for in previous seasons. For instance, Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson are dancing to “Pirates of the Caribbean,” so he’ll have to live up to a “Pirates” routine by Riker Lynch in season 20 that scores two perfect 10s. And Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold will be paying tribute to “Moana” just one season after Simone Biles received two 10s for her “Moana” contemporary dance this past spring.
But it won’t just be recent films that get the “DWTS” treatment. Monday night’s dances will also include a classic of the 1920s (“Steamboat Willie” for Victoria Arlen), a classic of the 1940s (“Pinocchio” for Lindsey Stirling), a potential classic that hasn’t been released yet (“Coco” for Nikki Bella), and more.
