‘Dancing with the Stars’: Was Team Monster Mash really a ‘mess’ or a masterpiece on Halloween Night? [WATCH]

“I’m so happy with my team. I think it’s a really strong team. I love all of the people that are on it,” said “Dancing with the Starsfrontrunner Jordan Fisher about performing a group routine on “Halloween Night” with his fellow Team Monster Mash members Lindsey Stirling, Nikki Bella, and Terrell Owens. “There’s an added pressure of being able to deliver something really special considering our team all finished at the top of the leaderboard last week.” There was also concern on the team about balancing so many “moving parts” in terms of the performance components and the complex use of scenery, not to mention Stirling battling through a rib injury. They even needed to schedule extra rehearsal time to work out the kinks. Unfortunately, the judges didn’t think it quite worked out. Do you agree? Watch it above.

Len Goodman said, “I have a hard time eating corn on the cob. It’s messy, and for me this was a bit messy as well … There was too much wheeling and dealing. The actual individual dance in the jive part I liked. The foxtrot going around I thought was imaginative. It was just a bit broken up for me.” Bruno Tonioli added, “For all the group sections you picked the jive. To keep the kicks and flicks in time when there are eight of you is almost impossible … so it lost a lot of the sync. You were much better individually.” And Carrie Ann Inaba concluded, “I felt like you all under-danced in order to match each other. I felt like you all pulled back a bit, and that was disappointing because you’re all so fantastic.”

Their scores weren’t terrible — straight 8s for a total of 24 out of 30 — but that was six points less than their rivals, Team Phantom of the Ballroom, who received a perfect score. The differential was enough to leave all four Team Monster Mash members on the bottom of the leaderboard when the team dance was combined with their individual dances: Fisher tied for fourth (54 out of 60), Stirling sixth (51 out of 60), Owens seventh (49 out of 60), and Bella eighth (48 out of 60). Bella was eliminated along with Vanessa Lachey at the end of the night.
