Emmy submissions: HBO category placements for ‘Big Little Lies,’ ‘Veep,’ ‘Westworld’ and more [EXCLUSIVE]

In a Gold Derby exclusive, we have learned the category placements of the key Emmy Awards contenders for HBO. The premium network does not have defending Best Drama Series winner “Game of Thrones” back in time, but the comedy champ “Veep” starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus does return. Among its newcomers are “Divorce” starring Sarah Jessica Parker, “Insecure” with Issa Rae, and “Westworld” featuring Anthony Hopkins and Evan Rachel Wood. Best Limited Series contenders include “Big Little Lies” starring Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon plus “The Night Of” with Riz Ahmed and John Turturro.

Below, the list of HBO lead, supporting and guest submissions for drama series, comedy series, limited series, and TV movies. More names might be added by the network before final Emmy paperwork deadlines. Also note that performers not included on this list may well be submitted by their personal reps.
