Evie Clair performs on ‘America’s Got Talent’ Semifinals 1: Teenage singer makes her dad proud [WATCH]

Teenage singer Evie Clair performed Tuesday night during the Semifinals 1 episode of “America’s Got Talent” 2017. When she appeared back in the judge cuts, the 13-year-old went viral with her rendition of Macy Gray‘s “I Try.” This week, Clair added a new wrinkle — playing the piano — as she sang a cover of “Yours” by Ella Henderson. Watch Evie Clair’s “Americas Got Talent” recap video above from NBC’s reality TV show.

As a refresher, the Clair family is still dealing with emotional turmoil as her father is battling cancer. But Clair made her dad proud as she performed with grace and dignity, even getting two “AGT” judges — Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum — to jump up to their feet. However, Mel B and Howie Mandel remained seated following Clair’s Semifinals performance. Here’s a breakdown of their critiques:

Cowell: “Evie, Evie, Evie. I’ve said this before, you are gutsy. You really, really are. And let met tell you something, this song was beautiful. Your voice was beautiful. Where you were where you were singing like somebody else’s song before, I know who wrote this song but you made it your version. Your tone, your pitch was stunning, it was laid back. And let me tell you, your dad is going to be so proud of you.”

Klum: “Even though we’re in this big theater you made it very intimate. You made it very personal. You made it very, very moving for all of us. Evie, I’m very, very proud of you. Well done.”

Mel B: “I think we forget and you’re already going through so much so I have to commend you on your courage and your confidence. Your voice is beautiful, you look beautiful and yes, your dad is so, so proud of you. I hope America votes for you.”
