Speaking of worst, can anything ever replace Season 5’s low point “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” as the least appreciated episode of the entire series? For those with short memories, this was the episode where Sansa was forced to marry Ramsay, and then he sexually assaulted her on their wedding night. “Unbowed” received immediate backlash from fans and critics for going too far, which is quite the critique for a series known for brutal murders and shameless nudity.

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 premiere date is July 16 … but it’s only seven episodes

For every head-scratching hour, there is a true masterpiece like my personal favorite “Battle of the Bastards.” Season 6’s war episode won Emmy Awards for Best Directing (Miguel Sapochnik) and Best Writing (David Benioff & D.B. Weiss) and helped the show claim the Best Drama Series crown in 2016. This is one of four episodes that earned a near-perfect 9.9 score out of 10 at IMDb. To see the other three that are tied for the top spot, take a tour through our photo gallery.
