‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 trailer teases ‘Long Walk’ to Iron Throne [WATCH]

Game of Thrones” won’t be back on HBO till July 16 but the paycaster is already promoting the return of the reigning Emmy champ. It just released the first trailer for the seventh season of this epic series (watch above). Fans have been waiting almost a year for a look at what lies ahead for the warring factions.

As you can see from the trailer, we see each of Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) approach the Iron Throne. After they take a seat, we get a glimpse of the Night King. What does this all mean? While we will get some answers this summer in the seven episodes to air, the big questions likely won’t be resolved till the eighth and final season in 2018.

At the Emmy Awards last fall, “Game of Thrones” won Best Drama Series for the second year running and tied its record for most series victories in a single year (12), which brought it’s all-time haul to 38. That makes it the most awarded primetime series in Emmy Awards history.
