Gutsy Golden Globes 2017 predictions: Tom vs. Tariq vs. Paul [WATCH]

Among brilliant award prognosticators, Tariq Khan is a hero to me. His predictions are always fascinating and they’re usually right. His accuracy rate could even be higher if Tariq could only resist jumping off cliffs, but, lucky for us, he can’t and he happens to be a splendid diver. He knows how to put on a show while plunging downward. He’s at his best when he throws his arms out, thrillingly, reaching for longshots.

And beware: he often catches them.

Click video above to watch Tariq and my show with Gold Derby executive editor Paul Sheehan, who joins me in giving Tariq grief over his current wildcat picks:

Best Drama Actor: Denzel Washington (“Fences”) over Casey Affleck (“Manchester by the Sea”).

Best Supporting Actor: Dev Patel (“Lion”) over Mahershala Ali (“Moonlight”) and Jeff Bridges (“Hell or High Water”).

Best Screenplay: “Nocturnal Animals” over “Manchester” and “Moonlight”

Best Song: “Gold” over “City of Stars” and “How Far I’ll Go.”

Best Score: “Arrival” over “La La Land” and “Lion.”
