“Grace and Frankie” returns to Netflix with 13 new episodes to stream on March 24. Oscar winner Jane Fonda and Emmy darling Lily Tomlin play the title characters, two women forced into friendship when their husbands, Robert (Martin Sheen) and Sol (Sam Waterston), fall in love and leave them.
Over the course of the first two seasons, these four have navigated new waters. While the women become reluctant roommates, the men marry and move house. One of the main storylines of the upcoming season will see Grace and Frankie going into business together to make and sell vibrators for older women. The trailer above includes their interview with a loan officer who is less than convinced at the financial viability of their idea.
Aside from dealing with each and their exes, Grace and Frankie also have to mother their grown children. June Diane Raphael and Brooklyn Decker play Grace’s two daughters Brianna and Mallory while Ethan Embry and Baron Vaughn are Frankie’s two sons Coyote and Bud. Also back is Ernie Hudson as Frankie’s would-be suitor Jacob.
“Grace and Frankie” is a rarity on television, as it to focus on the lives of older people. Tomlin reaped an Emmy bid last year for Best Comedy Actress; she lost to Julia Louis-Dreyfus who won for the fifth year in a row for “Veep.”
