‘House of Cards’: Frank Underwood’s nastiest, hilarious & most jawdropping quotes of all time

Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) is known for saying some truly vile and shocking things on Netflix’s “House of Cards.” Since Underwood consistently breaks the fourth wall he tells the viewers exactly what he’s thinking, for better or for worse. Click through our photo gallery above highlighting Underwood’s nastiest, hilarious and most jawdropping quotes of all time.

Underwood began “House of Cards” as a member of the House of Representative seeking revenge on the new administration after being overlooked for Secretary of State. By the end of the first season Underwood had ascended to become Vice President, and at the conclusion of Season 2 Underwood was banging his infamous ring on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office as President. Fast forward to Season 4 with his wife Claire (Robin Wright) as his running mate and both willing to start a war to secure their hold on power.

Among our favorite Underwood quotes is this gem from the 2013 pilot episode: “Power is a lot like real estate. It’s all about location, location, location. The closer you are to the source, the higher your property value.” And in a memorable moment in Season 3, Underwood turns to the camera and tells the audience, “Please, slit my wrists with his butter knife.” What quotable lines of dialogue will viewers hear in the fifth season of “House of Cards”?

Netflix made the wise decision to hold Season 5 until May 30, just one day before the eligibility period ends for this Emmy season. While Spacey has yet to win an Emmy Award for his role as Frank Underwood, he did take home his first Golden Globe in 2015 (after seven previous nominations) and two consecutive SAG Awards in 2015 and 2016. Perhaps given the current political climate the TV academy will finally appreciate the skill it takes to play such a devilish character. See Gold Derby’s Emmy odds for Best Drama Actor.
