Even though “Wonder Woman” just hit theaters, the overwhelmingly positive response to this fourth film in the DC Extended Universe has everyone wondering how long we will have to wait to see Gal Gadot suit up again as this crime-fighting Amazonian. Turns out she is to feature prominently in this fall’s release “Justice League.”
Zach Snyder, who kicked off the franchise with “Man of Steel” in 2013, had been working on this fifth film in the series before stepping down several weeks ago to deal with a family matter. He asked his pal Joss Whedon to take over the final edit of this film that brings together many of the DC Comics stable of super-heroes. The film is set for worldwide release on November 17, 2017.
We had first seen Wonder Woman in Snyder’s “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” last summer. That pitted the Caped Crusader (Ben Affleck) against the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill). In “Justice League,” which takes place months after that film, the Man of Steel is still missing. Batman and Wonder Woman recruit Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) to battle Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) and his army of Parademons monsters from Apokolips. We got a glimpse of these alien invaders during the Dark Knight’s nightmare in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
In the new trailer for “Justice League” (watch above), the five super-heroes are seen in action pieces that look breath-taking in their boldness, all set to a an amped-up version of The Beatles classic “Come Together.”
