Keegan-Michael Key brings back classic Luther the Anger Translator character on ‘Late Show’ [WATCH]

It’s been two years since Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele ended their Comedy Central sketch comedy series “Key and Peele” at the height of its success, and President Barack Obama left office this past January. So it’s been a while since we’ve seen one of tht show’s most popular characters: Luther the Anger Translator, who took Obama’s measured, politic statements and let us know what he really thinks. But Key visited “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday night, July 18, and decided to bring Luther out of retirement. Watch him above.

“Every one of y’all in the White House has lost your damn mind!” said Luther about the political dysfunction of the Donald Trump administration. He started by discussing the Republican attempt to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, with a bill that the Congressional Budget Office estimated would cost 20 million people their insurance coverage: “I would say you people make me sick, but I can’t afford that because I wouldn’t have no damn insurance!”

Then Luther weighed in — literally — on Trump’s proposal to build a transparent wall along the Mexican border so innocent passersby wouldn’t be surprised by 60-pound bags of drugs being hurled from our neighbor to the south: “Who they got throwing these things over the wall? You telling me John Cena got a Mexican cousin over there just chucking bags?”

Watch the video above to find out what else Obama’s anger translator had to say Tuesday night.
