Starring Hugh Jackman, “Logan” is the third and final Wolverine film following “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” (2009) and “The Wolverine” (2013). It’s directed by James Mangold, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Frank and Michael Green.

The film is inspired from from the comic book “Old Man Logan” by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven. After playing Wolverine for 17 years, Jackman agreed to play this character one final time in “Logan.” Does that mean we may see the Wolverine — gasp — die?

Other cast members in the anticipated film are Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen. But they’re all tertiary characters as “Logan” focuses solely on Jackman’s character as he undertakes one last adventure in the far-off future.
