Michael Kelly (‘House of Cards’) might be uncovered with President in murder plot of a journalist [Exclusive Emmy Episode]

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Michael Kelly is entering the “House of Cards” episode “Chapter 64” as his Emmy submission for Best Drama Supporting Actor. This installment of the Netflix program streamed May 30 and was the 12th episode of the 5th season. In this segment, evidence might be uncovered proving that future President Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his Chief of Staff Doug Stamper (Kelly) murdered journalist Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara). Frank and Claire (Robin Wright) demand that Doug take the fall for them, implicating himself in the death. He doesn’t take the request very well, wondering how far he can take his loyalty.

Last year’s category winner, Ben Mendelsohn (“Bloodline”), is now nominated as a guest actor. Instead, Kelly competes against prior champions John Lithgow (“The Crown”), Mandy Patinkin (“Homeland”) and Jeffrey Wright (“Westworld”), past nominee Jonathan Banks (“Better Call Saul”), plus rookie contenders David Harbour (“Stranger Things”) and Ron Cephas Jones (“This Is Us”).

Kelly now has his third consecutive nomination for his sinister role on the drama series. He has also been a part of the cast nominated at the SAG Awards in 2015 and 2016 for Best TV Drama Ensemble.
