Even though many Oscar experts now pick Denzel Washington (“Fences”) to win Best Actor after his recent victory at the SAG Awards, Peter Travers (Rolling Stone) and Michael Musto (Out) are still betting on longtime frontrunner Casey Affleck (“Manchester by the Sea”) to prevail.

Travers’ boldest prediction is for Isabelle Huppert (“Elle”) to triumph as Best Actress: “Now I could be as crazy as a bed bug about this, but I just love the idea that, if there’s a surprise, that this could possibly happen.”
Musto disagrees: “Emma Stone is going all the way. ‘La La Land’ has 14 nominations and I think Emma will be carried along with the sweep. She’s the golden girl of Hollywood.”
