Oscar voters get DVD screener of ‘Girls Trip’ with scene stealer Tiffany Haddish

With her scene-stealing turn as the irresistibly brash Dina in “Girls Trip,” stand-up comedian Tiffany Haddish emerged as one of the breakout stars of 201. After her surprise Best Supporting Actress win from the New York Film Critics Circle, Haddish is on an awards season run that might just include an Oscar nomination. To that end, the studio just delivered DVD screeners of her raucous road movie to Academy Awards voters.

While broad comedies like “Girls Trip” are not typical Oscar fare, Haddish makes this a movie worth watching. She got another profile boost when she hosted “Saturday Night Live” last month and as of late has been promoting the picture around town.
