‘Outlander’ newcomer Cesar Domboy on how he would feel if Black Jack were his father [WATCH]

Outlander” returns for its long-awaited third season on September 10 after more than a year’s hiatus, so to help get fans ready for the new episodes, Starz is giving you a chance to get to know French actor Cesar Domboy. He is joining the cast as an older version of Fergus, whom Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) encountered in season two. He played a revealing game of “Would You Rather” with Leanne Aguilera from “Entertainment Tonight.” Watch above.

“Would you rather never know your father,” Aguilera asks, “or find out that it was Black Jack?” Domboy doesn’t hesitate to answer, “I’d rather find out it was Black Jack and try to deal with it as a great background for a character.” Black Jack (Tobias Menzies) is the cruel British army officer who Claire encounters when she visits the past. Of course he’s also the ancestor of Claire’s 20th century husband Frank (also played by Menzies). But apparently the mystery is worse than finding out there is evil in your bloodline.

We also learn that if given the opportunity, Domboy would bring his grandmother through the stones from the past to the present, that he’d sooner live at Versailles than at Castle Leoch, and that he’d rather be mercilessly whipped by Redcoats than be forced to whip Jamie. “I would never whip Jamie!” he insists. “That’s impossible — genetically impossible!” Find out more about the “Outlander” newcomer above, and vote in our “Outlander” Awards to decide the best moments of the series thus far.
