There is a battle brewing among “Outlander” fans over what’s really the best episode of all time. Nearly 2,300 have voted in our Season 1 poll and Season 2 poll, and while there isn’t a unanimous consensus choice, four episodes have come to the surface as the best of the best: “The Wedding” and “The Reckoning” from the first season, and “Faith” and “Dragonfly in Amber” from the second year. “The Wedding” — Season 1, Episode 7
The only way for Claire (Caitriona Balfe) to avoid falling into the hands of Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) seems to be for to marry Jamie (Sam Heughan), who agrees to marry her and protect her. Claire has doubts because she is still married to Frank, but ultimately weds Jamie and then later consummates the marriage that night.
“The Reckoning” — Season 1, Episode 9
After Jamie saves Claire from Black Jack Randall, their unique marriage is tested. Meanwhile, Jamie tries to make sure that Colum and Dougal don’t overreact to Claire’s rescue. And after Laoghaire tries unsuccessfully to seduce Jamie, she leaves a bad luck charm under Claire and Jamie’s bed.

“Faith” — Season 2, Episode 7
Doctors try to save the lives of Claire and her unborn baby, but ultimately they fail in an extremely emotional series of scenes. Elsewhere, King Louis wants Claire to be the judge of two men who are accused of practicing the dark arts.
“Dragonfly in Amber” — Season 2, Episode 13
Flashing forward to 1968, Claire travels to Scotland with her 20-year-old daughter, Brianna, and meets Roger Wakefield. It’s there that Claire reveals the truth to Brianna about her time travel, her life in Scotland, and Brianna’s true parentage. That story is intercut with the 18th century, which happens on the day of the Battle of Culloden.
