Razzie Awards predictions: ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ will sweep, Tyler Perry adds to record ‘wins’

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will be the big winner at the Razzie Awards this Saturday, claiming six prizes including Worst Picture according to the official racetrack odds at Gold Derby. All of our experts, along with our in-house editors and most of our readers are backing its bid, giving it leading odds of 4/11. That puts it far in front of the “Hillary’s America” (10/1 odds) and “Independence Day: Resurgence” (12/1). This 37th annual feast of the biggest movie turkeys takes place just 24 hours before Hollywood gathers to honor the best of the year with the Oscars.

Among those slated to be honored by the Razzies are “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” leading men Ben Affleck, who played the Caped Crusader and Henry Cavill, who stepped into the tights of the Man of Steel. They will share Worst Screen Combo but we are predicting that Affleck alone will lay claim to the Worst Actor award. How far this two-time Oscar winner has fallen. Just three years ago the Razzies gave Affleck the Redeemer Award for his helming of the Best Picture champ “Argo.”

Thanks to the stink bomb that is “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” Affleck is once again on the wrong side of the Razzies. Also predicted to prevail is one-time Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg for his scene-chewing supporting turn as Lex Luthor. And this movie misfire will also win Worst Director, Screenplay and Worst Remake, Ripoff or Sequel.

Of the “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” cast, only Amy Adams as Lois Lane was spared from Razzies consideration. While she was snubbed by the Oscars for her performance in “Arrival,” we’re betting she was glad to be left off the list of contenders for Worst Actress. That title looks like it will go to Tyler Perry for “Boo! A Madea Halloween.” He won this award back in 2013 for  “A Madea Christmas” becoming the second man to win a Razzie for a female role; Adam Sandler had pulled off that ignoble feat, taking both Worst Actress and Worst Actor for playing twins in “Jack and Jill” in 2011.
