Razzie Awards: ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and ‘Hillary’s America’ both ‘win’ 4

The Razzie Awards ended in a surprise tie with the Hollywood blockbuster “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and the faux documentary “Hillary’s America” winning four prizes apiece. These kudos, honoring the worst of moviemaking, were handed out on Feb. 25 (one day before the Oscars) in a virtual ceremony. “Hillary’s America,” a lame-brained look at the “real” Hillary Clinton, won Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Dinesh D’Souza playing himself) Worst Actress (Becky Turner) and Worst Director (shared by D’Souza and Bruce Schooley).

The first match-up of the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel lay claim to Worst Screenplay, Worst Supporting Actor (Jesse Eisenberg),Worst Remake Rip-Off or Sequel,  and Worst Screen Combo (Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill).

With these two stinkers so dominating the winners list, there was little room left for the other contenders. “Zoolander No. 2” had led with a staggering nine nominations but ended up with only one win: Worst Supporting Actress (Kristen Wiig).

Among the other films in the running for Razzies, “Dirty Grandpa” made a clean getaway, losing all six of its bids as did five-time contenders “Gods of Egypt” and “Independence Day: Resurgence.”
