So You Think You Can Dance’ episode 9: Which contestant had the best solo routine?

On Monday’s edition of “So You Think You Can Dance,” the top 10 each performed twice — once with their all-star partner and a second time as a solo act. One of these finalists was eliminated based on the vote count from last week’s show. Read more about that in our recap of the August 14 episode of “SYTYCD.”

Votes cast by the public this week will determine which of the remaining nine contestants is bounced from the show next Monday. Which of them shone the brightest in the solo spotlight? Vote in our poll below and weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section.

Three dancers performed contemporary dance routines:

Logan Hernandez did a dance to “The Radical Self” by AGF featuring Kubra Khademi;

Koine Iwasaki did a dance to “Home” by Oliver Tank; and

Taylor Sieve did a dance to “Tragedy (Austin Cello Version)” by Brandi Carlile.

Two dancers performed dance routines that combined contemporary and hip-hop elements:

Lex Ishimoto did a dance to “Rollin” by Shakka featuring Frisco; and

Kaylee Millis did a dance to “Dragon” by LVNDVN.

And five dancers performed dance routines that each had their own style of music

Robert Green did a hip-hop dance routine to “Look At Me Now” by Chris Brown featuring Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne;

Inyoung “Dassy” Lee did a popping dance routine to “Battling Go-Go Yubari in Downtown L.A.” by edIT;

Kiki Nyemchek did a Latin ballroom dance routine to “The Drummer” by Alessandro Olivato Orchestra;

Sydney Tormey did a ballroom dance routine to “Swish Swish” by Katy Perry featuring Nicki Minaj; and

Mark Villaver did a breakdance dance routine to “Is It a Crime” by Sade.
