‘So You Think You Can Dance’: Mark Villaver was fit to be tied in ‘raunchy’ Broadway routine [WATCH]

“Today’s dance is a metaphor for the ways that love can bind you,” said “So You Think You Can Dance” choreographer Spencer Liff about the Broadway routine he put together for contestant Mark Villaver and his all-star partner Comfort Fedoke on Top 8 night. That metaphor was dramatized quite literally on stage, where Villaver performed the routine to a cover of Fiona Apple‘s “Criminal” while tied to a chair. “We have been through ups and downs, laughs and frowns, tornados and whirls — we are destructive!” said Fedoke about the love duets she and Villaver have performed this season thus far. Watch it above, then vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know what you think.

“We’re getting very raunchy with these routines, aren’t we?” noted judge Nigel Lythgoe about the provocative nature of the evening’s dances. “Mark, you hold the key to a lot of young ladies’ hearts here tonight. You were absolutely terrific in that routine … The jazz feel to it was absolutely terrific.” Vanessa Hudgens added, “You guys crushed it, it was so hot!” And Mary Murphy said, “Nothing average about that, let me tell you … Mark, you have become quite the little actor, haven’t you? I love how you’re growing every single week, and with the way you put your style into all those leaps you have now become a Broadway baby.”
