‘So You Think You Can Dance’ top 7: Which contestant had the best solo routine?

On Monday’s edition of “So You Think You Can Dance,” the top 7 each performed three times — once with their all-star partner, a second time as a solo act and then in small groups with each other. One of these finalists was eliminated based on the vote count from last week’s show. Read more about that in our recap of the Sept. 4 episode of “SYTYCD.”

Votes cast by the public this week will determine which two of the remaining six contestants are bounced from the show next Monday. Which of them shone the brightest in the solo spotlight? Vote in our poll below and weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section.

Two dancers performed contemporary dance routines:

Koine Iwasaki did a contemporary dance routine to “I Fall Apart” by Post Malone; and

Taylor Sieve did a contemporary dance routine to “Open Hands” by Ingrid Michaelson featuring Trent Dabbs.

And five dancers performed dance routines that each had their own style of music:

Logan Hernandez did a combo contemporary/breakdance routine to “Intro” by M83;

Lex Ishimoto did a hip-hop dance routine to “Sleep Talk” by Skye Chai;

Kiki Nyemchek did a jive dance routine to “Land of 1000 Dances” by Wilson Pickett;

Kaylee Millis did a combo jazz/hip-hop dance routine to “Bad Blood” by NAO; and

Mark Villaver did a breakdance dance routine to “Funkytown” by Lipps, Inc.

Next Monday “SYTYCD” will continue with the top six dancers before your votes will once again reveal the bottom three, with two pairs being eliminated and the remaining four advancing to the finale. Who is your favorite dancer in the top six and who do you think will be eliminated next week? Sound off in the comments below!
