Before the season premiere of “Survivor: Game Changers,” we asked our readers which member of the Nuku tribe they were rooting for to win. With 36%, Cirie Fields easily comes out on top of our poll. Cirie is one of the most loved and respected players in the series’ history, but strangely has never made it to the finals — can she overcome the likability factor and get to the end this time? Below, see how the other nine contestants fared in our poll and then make your “Survivor 34” predictions before the next episode.
In second place with 21% is challenge beast Ozzy Lusth. Like Cirie, Ozzy is now playing for the fourth time after previous appearances on “Cook Islands” (Season 13), “Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites” (Season 16) and “South Pacific” (Season 22). The two butted heads back in “Micronesia,” but are they able to let bygones be bygones now that they’re on “Game Changers”?
Former million dollar winner J.T. Thomas of “Tocantins” (Season 18) comes in third place with 12% support. Though initially on different tribes, J.T. is in the game with Sandra Diaz-Twine, who beat him for her second win on “Heroes vs. Villains.” Does he have what it takes to match her record and become the second player to win twice?
Coming in fourth place with 8% of the vote is Andrea Boehlke. Andrea is back for her third appearance, but in truth she’s always been her own worst enemy on “Survivor.” Here’s hoping she finds a way to reel in her aggressive style long enough to finally take home the $1 million.
Rounding out the Top 5 is animal lover Tai Trang with 6% of fans’ votes. Tai is already ruffling feathers on the Nuku tribe for wanting to protect the chickens and wild goats, so he’ll need to find a way to prioritize what’s most important to him.
Here’s how the other five players fared in our Nuku tribe poll: Zeke Smith and Debbie Wanner are tied in sixth place with 5% apiece, Sarah Lacina and Sierra Thomas are tied at 3% each, and Brad Culpepper comes in dead last with 1%, suggesting that his volatile first appearance back in “Blood vs. Water” (Season 27) still rubs fans the wrong way.
The trailer for next week’s “Survivor: Game Changers” hints at a tribe switch, so the current make-up of the Nuku and Mana tribes will likely be randomly upended. That could prove to help someone like Cirie, who is Ozzy’s target for voting him out eight years ago.
