‘Survivor: Game Changers’ predictions: Brad Culpepper unseats Sarah Lacina as the favorite to win

After trailing Sarah Lacina for two weeks in the derby predictions as most likely to win “Survivor: Game Changers,” our current power rankings leader Brad Culpepper finally unseats her with leading 15/8 racetrack odds. Sarah falls to second this week with 14/5 odds while her tribe mate Ozzy Lusth jumps to third with 10/1 odds of his own. Though he’s been at the top of our weekly power rankings most of the season, it’s taken a while for the derby odds-makers to get behind Brad. But after two tribe swaps fell in his favor, Brad tops our weekly predictions to win the season. The latest swap kept Brad on the same side as his closest ally Sierra Thomas, but feeling like they’re at a numbers disadvantage, Brad pulled in Troyzan Robertson on the basis that they’re the only two men on the new Mana tribe.

The threat of a Brad/Sierra/Troyzan alliance looms over the rest of the field because of the advantages that the three possess. In the premiere episode Sierra found the legacy advantage which will become an idol further down the road and Troyzan has a hidden idol that no one knows about. Brad, despite not having either advantage for himself, is the decision-maker in the group and that’s not only enough to keep him safe, but could be the argument he needs to win over a jury at the end.

How did Jeff Probst get ‘Survivor’ host job with this audition tape?

Sarah and Ozzy are coming on strong as the power players on the other side of the island at the Nuku camp. Last week the two worked with Zeke Smith, Andrea Boehlke and Tai Trang to be the first alliance to successfully eliminate two-time champion Sandra Diaz-Twine. As was true in all three of his past seasons, Ozzy is the provider of his tribe, catching fish and acting as the leader during challenges. Sarah on the other hand has taken more of a background leadership role, slowly building trust with a core group while planning to eventually make the kind of big move that could impress a jury.

Their Nuku tribe will be disrupted in this week’s episode “What Happened on Exile, Stays on Exile” when Debbie Wanner returns from exile. Debbie has proven to cause drama already this season for the old Mana tribe, both at camp and during challenges. But Ozzy and Sarah are unlikely to want to work with her after each expressed reservations about Tai’s ability to use Debbie and Aubry Bracco (both from his original “Kaoh Rong” season) against them.
