Tatiana Maslany (‘Orphan Black’) is the decade’s best Drama Actress Emmy winner, according to you [POLL RESULTS]

The readers of Gold Derby have spoken, and “Orphan Black” star Tatiana Maslany has been voted the best Drama Actress Emmy winner of the 2010s (so far). Playing numerous clones with different personalities on the recently departed BBC America series, the actress earned 44% of the vote in our recent poll, towering over all other contenders.

Maslany had been snubbed at the Emmys for the show’s first two seasons before earning a nomination in 2015 for Season 3 and losing. Just when it seemed like she would go criminally unrewarded for playing roles as diverse as a con woman, a lesbian grad student and a suburban mom on ”Orphan Black,” Maslany pulled off one of the most shocking wins in this category in 2016, and it was long overdue for members of the show’s Clone Club.

Beyond Maslany it was a very close race for second, with two-time victor Claire Danes (“Homeland”) taking 16% of the vote, Viola Davis (“How to Get Away with Murder”) at 15%, and reigning champ Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) at 14%. Julianna Margulies (“The Good Wife”), the decade’s only other double winner, followed behind with 10%, with Kyra Sedgwick (“The Closer”) bringing up the rear at 1%.

“Orphan Black” did not air in the 2016-17 TV season so Maslany was not able to be nominated this year, but the final season finished airing in August which means she will be eligible at the 2018 Emmys. It is possible that the actress could earn a farewell Emmy for her work, though she may have tough competition with Moss, this year’s winner, or a yet-to-be-seen new contender.
