Last year, “The Americans” finally broke through in a big way at the Emmys, reaping bids for Best Drama Series as well as for leads Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell who play Soviet spies Phillip and Elizabeth Jennings. And it won Best Drama Guest Actress for the second year running for scene-stealer Margo Martindale as their KGB handler Claudia.
This FX series returns on March 7 and by the looks of the trailer above, season 5 could be the one that wins it the big prizes at the Emmys this fall. There will be 13 episodes this season with a final 10 to come in 2018.
