On Monday’s episode of “The Bachelor,” Nick Viall made his decision as to which two women he would take to the final after finishing off his fantasy suite dates in Finland. Last week, he was seen wooing fan favorite Raven Gates, a 25-year-old fashion boutique owner from Hoxie, AR, who told the world she was “satisfied” by the bachelor. This week, it was turn of her rival Vanessa Grimaldi, a 29-year-old special education teacher from Montreal, Quebec and Rachel Lindsay, a 31-year-old attorney from Dallas, TX.
SPOILERS AHEAD: Who did Nick decide would get a rose, and who was sent home?
Nick took Rachel on a cross-country skiing jaunt to a reindeer sanctuary. She struggled to keep up with him but proved to be a good sport. After revealing her insecurities to him, the pair made merry on a sleigh ride, with lots of canoodling under a blanket. They finished off the date with dinner by the fire and, after each admitted they had feelings for the other, they went to the bedroom. In the morning, Rachel revealed, that the previous night had “moved us to another level.”
Last, but certainly not least was Vanessa. They kicked off their date with a Finnish tradition: a plunge in an outdoor pool and then a stint in a sauna. Back and forth they went between the two extremes before finally taking a break in a hot tub. Nick allowed that he impressed with Vanessa’s fearlessness but expressed reservations about her traditional upbringing. She, in turn, wondered if he would move north of the border. “I never imagined living in Canada,” he admitted. After spending the night with Nick, Vanessa declared her love for him.
At the rose ceremony, Nick was in tears as he told all three women that he loved each of them in a different way. In the end, he opted to eliminate Rachel. However, with the recent news that she is to be “The Bachelorette” this summer, this news was not the surprise it might have been to viewers.
