“Mr. Comey, sir, I thought if you came back for one last meeting we could straighten things out,” says Donald Trump in a new satirical video from “The Simpsons,” which previously spoofed the president during his first 100 days in office. “Let’s make a deal,” adds Trump. “You hand over all your notes, and I’ll erase the tapes — I mean there are no tapes!” Watch the video above.
Trump ignited a firestorm of controversy recently when he fired FBI Director James Comey while Comey was overseeing an investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion with members of the Trump campaign. The firing of Comey prompted accusations of obstruction of justice and comparisons to Richard Nixon, whose ghost haunts Trump. “I came to thank you, Donald,” says ghost Nixon. “Thanks to you, I’m now the 44th best president.”
“Come on, let’s be pals,” Trump finally says to Comey. “Give me some advice.” Comey answers, “Start hanging out with people who are more honest than you.” So Trump invites a more honest person, Richard Nixon, into a group hug. This parody video was “paid for by the committee to turn the clock head to 2020, or back to whenever, just not here.”
