‘The Voice’ power rankings: Team Adam Levine top 5 artists from best to worst

Can Adam Levine win a fourth title as coach on the hit NBC reality series “The Voice”? So far Season 12 could be described as a challenge for the Maroon 5 frontman, who struggled to convince artists to commit to his team during the blind auditions. It could easily be argued that Levine recruited the weakest team considering not a single one of the 12 steals enforced throughout the battles and knockouts were used on an artist from Team Adam.

All that being said, it only takes one artist to be crowned the winner and nobody knows that better than Levine, who will do whatever it takes to cross the finish line in first. During the live playoffs starting April 17, two members of Team Adam will be voted through by viewers at home. Levine will then have to choose one of his remaining artists to save – advancing three artists in total to the top 12. Which member of Team Adam’s top five could become the winner and defeat the singers from coaches Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton and Alicia Keys? Here is a look at my power rankings and who I think will be voted into the next round, who will be saved by Adam, and who will be eliminated.

1. Jesse Larson
Audition – “Jealous Guy”
Battle – “Shameless”
Knockout – “The Letter”
Adam was the only coach to turn for Jesse during the blind auditions, and it may prove beneficial in the long run. Jesse didn’t show all his cards early on, but proved in the knockouts he is a force to be reckoned with. His gritty, soulful voice along with his musical abilities on the guitar is what champions are made of. We’ve seen these types of artists come out of nowhere to win before — and if any coach can turn a lemon of a season into lemonade, it’s Adam – and it will be with this artist. Prediction: Jesse Larson will be voted through.

2. Mark Isaiah
Audition – “Mercy”
Battle – “Pillowtalk”
Knockout – “Love Yourself”
The “teen heartthrob” of Season 12 will likely be the only title in Mark’s future, but artists like him have had success on “The Voice” before. Although he’s not one of the best singers of the season, he definitely stands out as a young, male pop star that young girls will be screaming for. We’ve seen that get an artist to the top three or four – but could Mark turn it into a win? Prediction: Mark Isaiah will be voted through.

3. Lilli Passero
Audition – “A Love of My Own”
Battle – “Every Little Bit Hurts”
Knockout – “Tears Dry on Their Own”
Adam was devastated when Lilli originally chose to be a part of Team Alicia, and he couldn’t have been happier when she was available to steal. Now that she’s on his team, my guess is that he will do whatever it takes to keep her around. Lilli’s strength is her old-school vibe and the key to her success will be song selection. In time, she may win over audiences at home – but I have no question she has won Adam over already. Prediction: Lilli Passero will be saved by Adam.

4. Josh West
Audition – “Ordinary World”
Battle – “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”
Knockout – “Carry On Wayward Son”
Josh looks like a flashback to the glory days of 80’s hair bands. At just 17 years old, it’s a fun juxtaposition that he has such a palate for older music. But his rocker persona has always come across as an act to me and I have to wonder if other viewers feel the same. I have not been as inspired by his performances as the coaches have. My hunch is that his season will end, but I’ve been wrong about him before. Prediction: Josh West will be eliminated.

5. Hanna Eyre
Audition – “Blank Space”
Battle – “Try”
Knockout – “Bleeding Love”
With one of the more pure, pop voices of the season, Hanna stands out but I’m not sure she is powerful enough to make a long-lasting impact. I thought her growth between her blind audition and her knockout was impressive – not to mention she’s very likable. But is she a star? She doesn’t feel like one to me. Prediction: Hanna Eyre will be eliminated.
