On Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” the four artists still in the competition — Addison Agen, Chloe Kohanski, Red Marlow and Brooke Simpson — each sang an original song. We asked who you thought was the best and a whopping 42% of you went with Agen and her rendition of “Tennessee Rain.” Despite that support, Agen still ended up as the season 13 runner-up to Chloe Kohanski, whose performance of the original tune “Wish I Didn’t Love You” was judged to be the best by 36% of you.
Despite coming in fourth on Tuesday’s results show, Red Marlow will be pleased to know that the song he wrote for himself, “I Pray,” registered 14% in the poll. However, Miley Cyrus won’t be happy to hear that her original composition, “What Is Beautiful,” that she crafted for her artist Brooke Simpson (who was third overall), merited a mere 8% in the poll.
If you haven’t yet be sure to cast your vote in our poll at the bottom of this recap of their performances and be sure to sound off on your favorite artist in our comments section.
Addison Agen (“Tennessee Rain”)
Agen effortlessly connected with the lyrics of this song of lost love.
Chloe Kohanski (“Wish I Didn’t Love You”)
This emotional ballad was well-suited to Kohanski’s edgy style and is all but certain to be a hit on iTunes.
Red Marlow (“I Pray”)
Marlow was the only one of the four finalists to write his own track. His tune tells a powerful tale of praying after personal struggles.
Brooke Simpson (“What Is Beautiful”)
Simpson’s coach co-wrote this song that showcased her young protege’s soaring vocals.
