‘The Voice’ battle: Aliyah Moulden vs. Dawson Coyle with ‘Walking on Sunshine’ for Team Blake Shelton [POLL]

The last of the six battles on the March 21 episode of “The Voice” pitted two of Blake Shelton‘s artists — Aliyah Moulden and Dawson Coyle  — against each other. For their battle song, Shelton chose to showcase his two teen talents with a song that was a hit way back in 1985 for the new wave band Katrina and the Waves. After being denied three full performances in a row, we saw Moulden and Coyle having fun with this dance tune. Shelton opted to keep Moulden, who sounded stronger in the choruses, while Alicia Keys opted to use her second and final steal on Coyle.

POLL: Who is the greatest ‘The Voice’ champion of all time?

On her February 28 audition episode, Moulden, a 15-year-old powerhouse from La Habra, CA, had rocked the house with her rendition of the 1956 Elvis Presley hit “Hound Dog” and convinced Shelton to turn quickly. The only surprise was that it took so long for Keys and Stefani to join him. In his March 14 blind audition, Coyle had the crowd hopping with a track from the 2016 album “Hard Love” by American Christian rock band Needtobreathe. As only Shelton turned, this 16-year-old from Williamstown, NJ ended up as the final artist on his team.

Over the course of the four Battle episodes, the 12 artists on each team will be split into six pairs and have to sing the same song for their survival. The four coaches —  Keys, Adam Levine, Shelton and Gwen Stefani — will then have to decide which contender in each battle to take to the Knockout rounds.
