The two-night “The Voice” Season 13 finale began Monday night on NBC, with rock artist Chloe Kohanski representing Team Blake Shelton. Each of the four finalists performed duets with their coaches, and Kohanski and Shelton chose to rock out to Roy Orbison‘s “You Got It.” Do you think Kohanski did good enough to win this season of “The Voice” and join the list of past winners? Watch Chloe Kohanski and Blake Shelton’s duet performance from “The Voice” 2017 live shows above.
Our writer Denton Davidson live-blogged the episode, and as he stated, “It’s a simple production with the two standing side by side while Blake strums his guitar. Again, this is a perfectly passable performance but the duets just aren’t that interesting tonight. I credit Blake for allowing his artists to truly shine on these duets. He always makes sure they are the focus, while the other coaches can’t help but make it about themselves (at least partly).”
Back in her blind audition of the reality TV show, Kohanski performed “The Chain” and had three coaches turn their chairs around: Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson and Shelton. The next time we saw Kohanski in the battle rounds, she and Ilianna Viramontes sang “I Am Woman” and Kohanski was declared the winner by her coach Cyrus. In the knockouts Kohanski was paired up against Ashland Craft and Craft prevailed, resulting in Shelton stealing Kohanski for his team following her performance of “Landslide.” Kohanski’s rendition of “Time After Time” in the playoffs was good enough to send her through to the live shows. She sang “Thank You” during Top 12 week, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” during Top 11 week, “Call Me” during Top 10 week and “I Want to Know What Love Is” during Top 8 week.
Kohanski is 23 years old and currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Here’s the official NBC bio: “Miley was one of Chloe’s musical inspirations growing up. She has always wanted to be a singer but after graduation, she decided to go to college to be an English teacher. Soon after, she realized that wasn’t for her, so she quit school and started playing in a blues band. Her decision to pursue music wasn’t exactly what her parents hoped for, as they have always been concerned that the music industry can be unpredictable. While they always want what’s best for Chloe, they are still supportive of her singing. The Voice is Chloe’s chance to make her parents proud and get validation of her musical talent.”
