Night 2 of the knockouts aired Monday night on “The Voice” Season 13, with Emily Luther performing P!nk‘s “Glitter in the Air” for Team Adam Levine. Luther was paired up against fan favorite Adam Pearce, with Luther proving victorious and knocking out Pearce, though he was later stolen by Miley Cyrus. Watch Luther’s winning performance from “The Voice” knockouts above.
Back in her blind audition, Luther performed “Summertime” and three coaches turned their chairs around: Levine, Blake Shelton and Jennifer Hudson. The next time we saw Luther in the battle rounds, she and Gary Carpentier sang “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” and Luther was declared the winner by her coach Levine. Special adviser Kelly Clarkson helped Luther and all of the other remaining artists in the knockouts. At the end of this round only 20 artists will remain and perform in the live shows of NBC’s reality TV program.
Luther is 24 years old and currently resides in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Here’s the official NBC bio: “Emily Luther is a 24-year-old from Woonsocket, Rhode Island. She’s the first musician in her family and studied at Berklee College of Music. When she was eight years old, she fell in love with musical theater and has been performing ever since. While at Berklee, she made a lot of connections in Los Angeles, and decided to move there when she was 20. While in LA, Emily was asked to sing background. However, she got involved with a team of industry people who judged her on her appearance, which discouraged her from her dream of being a solo artist. After three years in LA, Emily moved back home to Rhode Island to live with her parents. Since moving back home, she performs at weddings and corporate events. The Voice is her second chance to go for her dream with people who only care about what matters most – her voice.”
