“Jennifer has done so much to let me know to be my own self and its OK to be who I am and don’t be ashamed of it.” revealed an emotional Shi’Ann Jones following her elimination from “The Voice” on the third live results show of season 13. “Jennifer treats me like I am one of her own,” admitted the Team Jennifer Hudson singer. “That is somthing that I am going to miss.” (Watch Jones’s emotional exit interview from “The Voice” above.)
Jones, along with another of Hudson’s artists, Davon Fleming, and Ashland Craft from Team Miley Cyrus were the bottom three vote-getters among the Top 10 artists. Each had to sing one more song to try and win votes cast by viewers via Twitter and two of the artists were eliminated. Jones did herself proud with her rendition of the 1941 standard “At Last” that became associated with blues singer Etta James after she covered it in 1960.
Craft took on the 2005 country song “Tonight I Wanna Cry”, which was a big hit for Keith Urban as the fifth single from his fourth studio album, “Be Here.” And Fleming performed “Ain’t No Way,” a song that Carolyn Franklin wrote for her older sister Aretha Franklin back in 1968.
