On Tuesday, Chloe Kohanski won season 13 of “The Voice” over Addison Agen in one of the closest votes in the history of the show. Kohanski, who was mentored by Blake Shelton, had done well on Monday’s final and had scored two songs in the iTunes top 10.
She landed in second place on the sales chart with the original tune “Wish I Didn’t Love You.” This emotional ballad was well-suited to her edgy style. As part of the promotional push for the final four, Kohanski made a video version of “Wish I Didn’t Love You,” which you can watch above.
Her cover of Kim Carnes‘ 1981 chart-topper “Bette Davis Eyes” sat in seventh place on the iTunes chart. That this 23-year-old talent chose to cover a song from 14 years before she was born is not so surprising given the success she had on the second live show with “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Her rendition of that 1983 power ballad by Bonnie Tyler was your favorite among all of Kohanski’s performances on season 13 of “The Voice.”

Kohanski won over three of the coaches at her blind audition when she sang “The Chain.” She went with her idol, Miley Cyrus but was dropped by her in the Knockout Round. The sophomore coach preferred Ashland Craft, who made it to week three of the live shows.
