Fess up, “The Walking Dead” fans. Who among you hopes that big bad Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will die in Sunday’s Season 7 finale? Sure, he’s created some amazing moments this season and has single-handedly changed the dynamic of the series, but has Negan overstayed his welcome? Be sure to vote in our poll below before “The Walking Dead” Season 7 finale airs this Sunday on AMC.
The last time the show had a major villain this bad was The Governor (David Morrissey) back in Season 3. He was introduced at the beginning of that year, but didn’t die off until the midway point of the fourth season. Does that mean Negan might survive the finale and stick around until halfway through Season 8? Before his ultimate demise, The Governor killed fan-favorite character Hershel (Scott Wilson) by chopping off his head. See our gallery of “The Walking Dead” deaths.
Negan’s introduction to the series was twice as bad as The Governor’s exit, as he murdered two people — Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) — by bashing their heads in with a baseball bat. The ramifications of that moment still haunt the survivors, particularly Glenn’s pregnant widow Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Abraham’s exes Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green). If Negan were to die in the finale, perhaps one of these scorned women will be the one to end his life?
