“After all this, who are you, Dwight?” The question, posed by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) looms over the entire promo. It appears that Dwight (Austin Amelio) will be a major player of the episode. Though the scarred Savior answers his boss with the standard line “I’m Negan,” his conviction is less than convincing.
Dwight is under pressure to find the missing Daryl (Norman Reedus) who escaped captivity earlier this season. Since Dwight was responsible for looking after the prisoner, the blame falls squarely on his shoulders. With his relationship with Negan already showing strain, finding Daryl could be a life or death task. In the last episode, Daryl left the safety of the Kingdom to return to the Hilltop and prepare for battle. Will he make it back to Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and the group before Dwight catches up with him?

Of course, after a deadly visit to Alexandria Negan has a new prisoner in the camp in the form of Eugene (Josh McDermitt). The Alexandrian spends most of the clip cowering in terror, but he pops up in several locations around The Sanctuary. Should Eugene gain useful intel about the group and their compound, it could be key to helping his friends win the coming war. Of course, he would have to escape first to deliver the information.

There is also an ominous image of a person being beaten to a pulp by a Savior. Negan stands back to the camera in a door frame, blocking our view of the victim. But he’s holding his bat Lucille by his side, ready to strike at any moment. Who is the unfortunate soul getting knocked to the ground? Is this Dwight’s punishment for failing to bring back Daryl? Does Eugene get knocked around for refusing to make bullets? We will find out what Negan has in store when “Hostiles and Calamities” airs this Sunday.
