AMCs “The Walking Dead” ended its most recent episode “The Other Side” with Sasha’s (Sonequa Martin-Green) heartbreaking decision to take on The Saviors alone. But despite her sacrifice, Sasha may not have saved Rosita (Christian Serratos) from harm. As Rosita runs away from the Saviors’ camp in tears, she spots a shadowy figure behind her. The man stands ominously, holding a crossbow. While many fans have assumed the weapon indicates Daryl (Norman Reedus) trekked to the Sanctuary, the series boasts another bowman in Dwight (Austin Amelio). So which one is pursuing Rosita? Vote in our poll below.
The last we saw of Daryl, he was avoiding Saviors at Hilltop. When the dust settles on Simon’s (Steven Ogg) surprise visit, Daryl realizes a couple of his friends are missing. Sensing something amiss, he confronts Jesus demanding to know where Rosita and Sasha are. Since Jesus (Tom Payne) drew up plans of the Saviors’ compound for Sasha to study, he could have pointed Daryl in the same direction if Mr. Dixon was worried about the women. While The Sanctuary is depicted as far away, Daryl could have used his motorcycle or another car at the Hilltop to catch up with the suicide squad.
Rosita’s situation could become dicey if the silhouette belongs to Dwight. Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) right hand man was seen harassing Rosita in earlier episodes this season. Dwight stole Daryl’s beloved crossbow and has been practicing with the weapon ever since. He even used it to take out Denise (Merritt Wever) last season. Rosita may use her anger to get revenge on Dwight after witnessing that act firsthand. She will just have to be faster than a crossbow bolt to do it.
A possible silver lining in the Dwight scenario is his fracturing relationship with Negan. After all, he’s been burned with an iron, beaten to a pulp, and lost his wife Sherry (Christine Evangelista) all because of serving the maniacal Savior. With Sherry missing, is there anything keeping him at the Sanctuary? If Dwight is the one lurking in the shadows, perhaps Rosita could convince him to join Alexandria or otherwise use him as a pawn in the upcoming war.
Viewers will find out what kind of trouble Rosita finds herself in when “The Walking Dead” returns on Sunday, March 26. What do you think of “The Walking Dead” Season 7 so far? Be sure to sound off about the current episodes in the comments section below and in our fun TV forums.
