The 71st Annual Tony Awards are set to take place on June 11, 2017. As is traditional, that is a Sunday evening when Broadway shows are dark. CBS will air the three-hour show live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The non-profit American Theater Wing stages these awards in partnership the Broadway League, the trade association for producers.
The Tiffany network has broadcast these top theater honors since 1978. While the ratings are small compared to the Oscars, Emmys and Grammys, the audience is demographically attractive to advertisers. Last year’s edition, hosted by CBS late-night talk show host James Corden, will contend at the upcoming Emmys in Special Class Program.
