
Now that the 2018 Emmy nominations have been revealed, TV academy members have one month to watch episodes submitted by all of the nominees before final voting takes place August 13-27. Since guest performers must declare their episodes on the initial nominations ballot, we already know the submissions for Best Comedy Guest Actor nominees Sterling K. Brown (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”), Bryan Cranston (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Donald Glover (“Saturday Night Live”), Bill Hader (“Saturday Night Live”), Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) and Katt Williams (“Atlanta”).

Sterling K. Brown (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) as Philip Davidson
Episode title: “The Box”
Emmy ballot description: Jake and Holt have one night to get Philip Davidson to confess to a murder they know he committed. But Davidson is smart, suave, and nimble — he parries their every blow and counters their every strategy. Will Jake and Holt best him, or will he get away with murder?

Bryan Cranston (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) as Dr. Templeton
Episode title: “Running With The Bulls”
Emmy ballot description: Larry still shares a therapist, Dr. Templeton, with his ex-wife, Cheryl. Dr. Templeton is concerned that Larry does not follow patient/doctor confidentiality. Larry does not care for his chair at Dr. Templeton’s office and offers to take him chair shopping.

Donald Glover (“Saturday Night Live”) as Host
Episode title: “Host: Donald Glover”
Emmy ballot description: Ben Stiller, as Michael Cohen, makes a series of phone calls to the Trump administration and the real Stormy Daniels appears as herself. Parodies include a Migos therapy session; “A Kanye Place;” and Lando’s Summit from Star Wars. Two performances by Childish Gambino.

Bill Hader (“Saturday Night Live”) as Host
Episode title: “Host: Bill Hader”
Emmy ballot description: Bill’s monologue is about what really happens behind the scenes from a host’s point of view. Parodies include the laid back “Californians;” “Anderson Cooper 360” with Bill playing Anthony Scaramucci; an Irish dating show, a “CBC Report;” and “Jurassic Park” auditions. Two live performances by Arcade Fire.

Lin-Manuel Miranda (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) as Himself
Episode title: “Fatwa!”
Emmy ballot description: Lin is playing Salman Rushdie in “Fatwa!” the musical, written by Larry David. When Lin’s cousins do not behave well as Larry’s houseguests, Lin is forced to defend his family’s honor in a duel with Larry.

Katt Williams (“Atlanta”) as Willy
Episode title: “Alligator Man”
Emmy ballot description: Katt Williams is Earn’s Uncle Willie, known as “Alligator Man” by the neighborhood kids because of his pet alligator, Coach. Willy is charming, but troubled. Tensions rise when Earn confronts Willie over his behavior and things quickly go awry when the police arrive and Coach is released.
