2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards winners: Full list of Golden Popcorn champs at the MTV Awards

The 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards were taped on Saturday, June 16, and aired on Monday night, June 18. The event was hosted by Tiffany Haddish, but who took home the coveted Golden Popcorn? Winners were decided by fans voting online. Scroll down for the complete list of MTV champs as they’re announced throughout the telecast.

Black Panther” came into these awards as the leading film with seven nominations: Best Movie, Best Performance in a Movie (Chadwick Boseman), Best Hero (Boseman), Best Villain (Michael B. Jordan), Best Scene Stealer (Letitia Wright), Best On-Screen Team (Boseman, Wright, Danai Gurira and Lupita Nyong’o) and Best Fight (Boseman vs. Winston Duke). It’s one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year and also the number-one film at the domestic box office with $699 million grossed, so it has plenty of fans on its side. Was it enough to overtake two other superhero films, “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Wonder Woman,” as well as “It” and “Girls Trip” in the top category?

Stranger Things” was the most nominated television show, also with seven bids: Best Show, Best Performance in a Show (Millie Bobby Brown), Best Scene Stealer (Dacre Montgomery), Most Frightened Performance (Noah Schnapp), Best On-Screen Team (Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin and Sadie Sink), Best Kiss (Brown and Wolfhard) and Best Musical Moment (Mike and Eleven dance to “Every Breath You Take”). Last year was the first time MTV honored TV programs alongside movies, and “Stranger Things” won Best Show and Best Performance in a Show for Brown. Did it repeat in those races and more? In the top category it faced off against “13 Reasons Why,” “Game of Thrones,” “Grown-ish” and “Riverdale.”

A couple of MTV winners were already known before the awards took place. Chris Pratt received the Generation Award for his body of work thus far, including “Parks and Recreation,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic World.” And writer-actress Lena Waithe was honored with the Trailblazer Award. She made history as the first black woman ever to win an Emmy for Best Comedy Writing (for the episode “Thanksgiving” from “Master of None”). She also appeared in the film “Ready Player One” and created the Showtime drama series “The Chi.”
