2018 MTV VMA Song of the Summer nominees include Cardi B, Ella Mai and Maroon 5, but who should win? [POLL]

The MTV Video Music Awards are less than a week away, and now we know the nominees for Song of the Summer. Which of these popular songs do you think deserves to win? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know.

Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa, “One Kiss”

Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin, “I Like It”

DJ Khaled featuring Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper and Quavo, “No Brainer

Drake, “In My Feelings”

Ella Mai, “Boo’d Up”

Juice WRLD, “Lucid Dreams”

Maroon 5 featuring Cardi B, “Girls Like You”

Post Malone, “Better Now”

Cardi B’s nominations for “I Like It” and “Girls Like You” increase her already substantial nominations haul for the year, giving her a total of 12. But perhaps she’s at risk of splitting her own vote.

That could open the door for Justin Bieber, who is nominated in this category for the third year in a row following bids for “Cold Water” (2016) and “Despacito” (2017). But despite his passionate fan base, he has yet to win this award. In fact, he hasn’t won a VMA since claiming Best New Artist for “Baby” (2010) and Best Male Video for “U Smile” (2011). But the combined fandoms for Bieber, DJ Khaled, Chance the Rapper and Quavo will make the difference this time around.

Calvin Harris is also nominated in this category for the third time and looking for his first victory, following bids for “I Need Your Love” featuring Ellie Goulding (2013) and “This is What You Came For” featuring Rihanna (2016). But he too has yet to win this race.

Drake is nominated for the second time, following “One Dance” featuring WizKid and Kyla (2016). He has the benefit of the current number-one hit in the country: “In My Feelings” has spent the last five weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, and the viral online dance challenge for the song has helped fuel its rise. It also set a new record for the most one-week streams ever recorded.
