Before academy voters start casting their final ballots for the Oscars on Feb. 20, they will know the winners of 10 of the guild awards. The actors, producers and casting directors all chimed in while nominations voting was underway. Seven more are set to reveal their best of the year in ceremonies over the next four weeks.
The first of these are on the weekend of Jan. 26, with the American Cinema Editors handing out the ACE Eddie Awards on Friday while the Art Directors Guild bestow their prizes on Saturday. Five other guilds (cinematographers, directors, sound editors, visual effects wizards and writers) will will weigh in with their winners as will the BAFTAs before Feb. 20.
Three of the other guilds (costume designers, makeup artists & hair stylists, sound mixers) are set to chime in during the eight days of voting for the Oscars by academy members, which ends on Feb. 27. The 90th annual Academy Awards will air live on ABC on March 4 and be hosted once again by Jimmy Kimmel.
Note: Winners events are in gold while nomination announcements are italicized.
