2018 SAG Awards TV predictions: Sean Hayes (‘Will & Grace’) will pick up right where he left off (winning)

Look for Sean Hayes to resume his winning ways at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. With 10/9 odds in our latest predictions, the “Will & Grace” star is projected to nab his fourth comedy actor prize at Sunday’s ceremony.

Just like at the Critics’ Choice Awards, Hayes is the only “Will & Grace” star nominated at SAG — the cast was snubbed for ensemble honors, which they won in 2001. Hayes and his co-star Megan Mullally both won three individual SAGs during the show’s original run, with his last coming on his then-final nomination 12 years ago. Since SAG voters love the familiar, it’d definitely make a lot of sense for them to dip back into the Just Jack well again.

A fourth win for Hayes still keeps him in second place behind Alec Baldwin (“30 Rock”), who won a record seven — all in a row — in this category.

But since SAG loves repeats, Hayes needs to watch out for defending champ William H. Macy, who’s on his heels with 3/1 odds. Macy, who also won three years ago, is the type of well-liked veteran SAG adores who can win a few more of these (or as long as “Shameless” is on the air). The other four nominees — Golden Globe champ Aziz Ansari (“Master of None,” 13/2 odds), Anthony Anderson (“Black-ish,” 15/2 odds), Larry David (“Curb Your Enthusiasm,” 50/1 odds) and Marc Maron (“GLOW,” 66/1 odds) — are looking for their first win.
