Adam Levine and Jennifer Hudson team up on ‘The Voice’ to help save DeAndre Nico from elimination [WATCH]

Typically on “The Voice” results show, after an artist performs for America’s instant save their coach then begs and pleads for America to vote for them. But during the Tuesday, November 27 episode, DeAndre Nico had the support of two coaches: his mentor Adam Levine and rival judge Jennifer Hudson. While Adam told America how “shocked” he was that DeAndre was in the bottom two (along with Lynnea Moorer of Team Kelly Clarkson), JHud inserted herself into the debate when she threw her shoe at DeAndre, a sign of unwavering affection. Watch the “Voice” video above to see how it all played out.

After DeAndre’s instant save performance of “Take Me to the King,” Jennifer raved, “DeAndre, when you sing a song like that you sing with a purpose and every single word I could feel it. You meant that. Did y’all not feel that? I think you sang your way to deserve to stay in this competition, honey. Ain’t much else to be said about that. You sure got my vote.”

“Does it feel right for this guy to go home?” Adam asked the live studio audience. “I’m really, really shocked that he’s even being considered as one of the bottom because I think he’s one of the top. I think that this dude deserves to go all the way. He deserves to be in the finale. I don’t know how we got to this point, DeAndre.”

Adam then made a pledge to the voters, stating, “I’m telling everybody at home that as [DeAndre]’s coach, if you can help this guy make it through this night, I’m gonna bring this guy all the way to the finale because he deserves to be there. This is crazy!”

During the commercial break America voted between sending home either DeAndre or Lynnea, and they ultimately chose to keep DeAndre in the competition. That means Adam still has two artists on his team heading into the upcoming Top 10 week: DeAndre and Reagan Strange.
